about

So many of the Gypsys latest albums have come from the simple message: "Mark is coming back for a holiday - let's have a jam session." This album was born that exact same way, utilising Mark's three-week holiday catching up with family. Taking place over the annual Boxing Day Tournament (which usually brings everyone together for music and basketball), this jam session featured the core three of Mark, Kez and Bob with Cory later joining for what would be his second session with the band. Sadly - no Richard! But the mix of songs on this album roughly follows the way they laid them down - starting with some originals and then blasting out the covers!

This collection is taken from the 26th of December 2015, the band seizing the opportunity to record while Mark had come back from England. The session was held in Kurt's garage and the band took the opportunity to rock out and create what would ultimately become their 13th non-gig album, Triskaidekaphobia.

credits

released February 29, 2016

Guitars by Kerry Logan, Keyboards by Mark Weir, Bass by Cory Brooks and Drums by Bobby Logan, Vocals by Kerry Logan, Cory Brooks and Mark Weir.

All songs written and produced by the musicians (except pretty much all of the Bonus Tracks which are by Nirvana, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Starship, 10CC, Tenacious D and Europe - and "Wilderness" by Ben Daglish - we should probably just do a C64 album already...)

Recorded at Kurt's Shed in Hawera, December 26th, 2015
