about

First surfacing as a piano tape-demo called "Z-Tuned Riff", this was one of the first tracks that Mark brought to the band shortly after Julio joined the group in mid-'96. Due to its epic nature, it took longer to cement in the band set than tracks like Mortal and Seven Hills, but it was promoted when Shocker joined the group at the start of '97. This 2015 redo is merely a slight remaster of that original Grey Area recording.

lyrics

You're choking on your reasons
Blinded by your cause
Smash superficial boundaries
Wax someone else's laws
Such sacrifice and dedication
Heading in a warped direction
Ask the question - is it you?!?

Through the smoke there seems to be
A better life for you and me
Or so you would have me believe
But, you go your way, I'll go mine
Don't need your causes, I'll be fine
I've got a lot better things to do

Your politics are boring, nothing for the test
Still glamorising stories to impress the rest
Society to blame you're telling me
I think you are your own worst enemy
What's the reason - is it you?!?
