Bev's Awesome Keyboard Day

from Lifer: Greatest Hits by Mark Weir

/

about

Way back in the earliest RockLords' days, the Gypsys improvised large numbers of songs, many of which would go on to become RockLords numbers for other bands of the precursor to other songs. This track was jammed on the 12th of October in 1995, roughly six months before the formation of Cynosure, and was one of the first full collaborations between the Cynosure-Shift threepiece of Mark, Kerry, ad Bobby. The track went on to become one of the recorded tracks on the first studio album by Cynosure the next year (which is this version here), and a staple of the band for many years to come.

The day after its improvisation, Kerry was playing the track on cassette to friends and asked everyone what they thought the name should be. Bevan quickly replied, "You should call it 'Bev's Awesome Keyboard Day'".
