The Revelation

from Y3K Part Two by Kerry Logan

/

about

The Y3K album is a conceptual piece about my 'spiritual reset' and Part Two occurred when I read the book 'Love Wins' by Rob Bell. The capstone of the second Y3K album, this track is the finally where I turn my efforts to running the race, to fully embrace the new understanding that I have of things now. Driven, by the urgency in the music, the lyrics have had to take on a somewhat final tone. I have also somewhat subconsciously brought in elements of C.S. Lewis' The Last Battle into my thinking behind this song.

I think I tried to channel Muse in someway here too. After writing the main riff, it had an obvious 'Muse meets The Last Ninja' (C64) feel and I wanted to really hammer into that. The result is one of the coolest tracks I've produced to date! You'll even notice that the tale of the song breaks into the Last Ninja... and one day I intend to do a C64 covers album - so look out.

lyrics

Breathe: can you feel the changing? The heart on the wind?
Run with me to the rising sun! Just let it begin
You must believe in the magic – cast your doubt from your skin
For only when the Truth arises will you know truth again

The light grows around you, the sun it rises, the reset begins
Come with me, a new day is dawning; the absence rescind
“I am free from the darkness – it can’t hold me within,
I am free of the ‘dogma’,” – that’s my revelation!
