about

The Gypsys are an improvisational band which began in 1993, hamming out Metallica, Nirvana and awful blues numbers. They grew into a more cohesive unit slowly but their journey was recorded and kept for all eternity. Characterised by riffs, thrashing out the same chord sequences, an early inability to finish a song together and often a heavy dose of their own peculiar brand of humour, these 50 or so musicians (once you play with the Gypsys, you're a Gypsy forever) have made music their life. And what a sad life it is...!

After an explosive return to live music and two excellent albums, the Gypsys took some time to work on their next one. It took a few tracks in '07, a jam in late '08 and then again in '09 for them to finally have enough material to release their 10th non-gig album, "Decimate".
