Saturday afternoon, no peaceful picnics today folks Traditional missile hurled at one of the fleet It’s nothing personal – we’ve just gotta get on with the job We gotta do what we do best Did I piss you off? Are you aware of the buzz? Doesn’t it make you mad? Wish you could fly like us? And in a minute When you think I’ve gone away I’ll be right here… We’ve got our troubles – being spider-meat is bad enough We don’t need you to jump on the bandwagon too Two-legged creatures, you make me sick! Two eyes?! And you’ve got no wings?! You look disgusting – Buzz! Buzz! Take that you fool! Fly! Do you have purpose at all?! Constant buzz drives me insane No six-leg(ged) **** will break me Ah! Shut up, you Fly, shut up!! Black Flag…

Went down to the shop To buy me a lollipop Bought my favourite one A taste that can’t be topped I can’t wait to get my fingers on it I can’t wait to get my lips upon it I can’t wait to slurp my goobies on it I can’t wait – no… In walks a hooded man With a gun in his hand Pushed it up into my eye Said, “eat that and you’re gonna die” I can’t wait to get my fingers on it I can’t wait to get my lips upon it I can’t wait to slurp my goobies on it I can’t wait – no… The hooded man walked out the door The hooded man was ‘round no more I walked out the lolly shop And I still had my lollipop! I can’t wait to get my fingers on it I can’t wait to get my lips upon it I can’t wait to slurp my goobies on it I can’t wait – no… I just can’t hold out no more My body shaking – really sore I gotta eat that lollipop Made up my mind – I can’t be stopped I have got my fingers on it I have got my lips upon it I have got my goobies on it I couldn’t wait – no… Up pulled this black carriage And out stepped death Pulled out his mighty scythe Said, “now the maggots gonna wriggle and writhe” I couldn’t wait to get your fingers on it I couldn’t wait to get your lips upon it I couldn’t wait to slurp your goobies on it I could’t wait to die…

about

The Gypsys are an improvisational band which began in 1993, hamming out Metallica, Nirvana and awful blues numbers. They grew into a more cohesive unit slowly but their journey was recorded and kept for all eternity. Characterised by riffs, thrashing out the same chord sequences, an early inability to finish a song together and often a heavy dose of their own peculiar brand of humour, these 50 or so musicians (once you play with the Gypsys, you're a Gypsy forever) have made music their life. And what a sad life it is...!

After the band finished up in early 1997, they thought their time was up, but after unearthing some recordings in 2004 taken from a 1999 birthday jam, and gathering together opportunities from that year, the Gypsys were able to rise again with "G8" (their 8th non-gig album). This album showed a far greater musical maturity and is easily their best to date.
