about

This Mark song was a popular one in the studio but, strangely, never had the time put into it. As a result, the track was mostly unfinished, comprising solely of bass, keys and drums. It then made its way onto the album as a shell of what it was supposed to be. The band would often joke about the words (of which were largely unwritten) and sing things like, 'I want to know you even though I've got a wife' and then crack up at the inappropriateness of the lyric. The chorus vocal, however, was set in stone and has never changed.

The 2015 redo has then had the guitars and vocals added onto it. The words have been written to try and utilise every ounce of that old inappropriateness it can, but could also viewed as a disco-inspired love song to Jesus (if that makes you feel better). The crowd backing vocals were added on last to give it that party atmosphere the song craves, courtesy of the members of the Knox Church Youth Group.

lyrics

Been thinking about you since you came into my life
I want to know you even though I’ve got a wife
Want to feel what its like to be
In someone elses hospitality

I want a piece of loving you
Ah… there is nothing I can do
Infatuation – I’ll do anything to see your face
Imagination – anything to set my heart to race
Do I know what is in my dreams?
Is that really everything it seems?
Determination – I’ll do anything to see your face!

Now that I know what its like to be
A little part of your reality
Been thinking about you since you came into my life!
