Michel de Nostradam

about

The "Y3K: The Beginning" album is a conceptual piece about my 'spiritual reset', a prequel of parts one (2014) and two (2016) that tells of the beginning of my faith journey. In my late teens and when I turned 20, I had grown fascinated by mysterious spirituality, especially the likes of things like the Mayan Calendar, the alignment of the planets in May 2000, and most notably Nostradamus. I found things of that nature so mysterious and awesome, like I was pulling back to curtain to reveal something of a hidden world I was not supposed to see. Around this time I stumbled upon the book of Revelation from the Bible and, thinking it just another awe-inspiring spiritual text, devoured it. I even remember reading most of it to an enthralled room full of non-Christians (as I was at that point).

I was able to do a house swap with my Australian cousin Shay in 2019, our families making use of opportunity to holiday. When we met during that time, he played me the riff which was this song, and then sent me a bass recording of it. The bass to this song was the starting point and everything wrapped around it - thanks Shay! I could not have made this awesome track without you!

Oh - and I was hunting around to see if I could find any audio files relating to Nostradamus and found the Simpsons making fun of him - I couldn't resist!

lyrics

All I want is the ending of the world
May 5, Mayan, Michele de Nostradam, the Revelation
Astral travel - existence of my soul
I hunger for the world beyond this world - to see the Hand of God!

If I could just glimpse a part
And heed the cry of my heart

And I stood upon the sand of the sea
I saw a beast rise up over me - it had seven heads!
Upon ten horns it bore heavy crowns
On its heads the name of blasphemy - how metal is that?!

A room of souls held as one
Revealed the Revelation
