about

Years ago, in my Youth Work days, I took two of my teenage students to a musical activity day. It was, however, vastly different to what we had ever anticipated and was aimed at young kids and was run in a very 'un-cool' fashion. Afterwards we were able to joke about it. Those jokes turned into this song... we recalled lines from songs they sung and from our experience and collected this together. The chorus is slightly unrelated but was something that some of students would say.

It all had such a good rhythm, I couldn't resist! Here, then, is probably the best song I've written in recent years.

lyrics

Of this you can be certain
You must be a very important person
Raise your hands – there’s actions too
V.I.P. …I’m sorry, India!

Who are you?
Prove it!
You can’t use my jokes on me!

Science. Communication
Of this Techno(logy) is the foundation
I can’t remember anymore of this one
My mind has blocked out that traumatic (song – ha!)

Rocket! Champion!
I love life – won’t you count me in?
I can’t believe that I dragged you to this…
Can’t believe it – I like your face!
